Spotify Launched its Lyrics Feature Around the World

The music streaming service platform launched its real-time lyrics feature around the globe, after previously only offering it in a limited selection of countries. On Thursday, Spotify said it is adding one of the most requested features from listeners in cooperation with Musixmatch.

Spotify’s new feature will be accessible on basically every platform where it has an app. This feature is available to both free as well as premium listeners. Hopefully, the lyrics feature is available on iOS, Android, desktop computers, gaming consoles, and smart TVs.

Spotify’s customers have the ability to share lyrics on social media. The company says the feature will be available across the “majority” of its music library. Many users waited for the app to include lyrics to all its available songs. In the past, the lyrics feature was available in several countries, but not in the U.S.

It is quite easy to access this feature on various devices. Let’s start with Spotify’s mobile app. The first step is to tap on the “Now Playing View” on a song. Importantly, while listening, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

You will notice track lyrics that scroll in real time as the song is playing. If you want to share lyrics on social media, it is also quite easy. Let’s continue, to share, you tap the “Share” button at the bottom of the lyrics screen and then select the lyrics you want to share. The next step is to share it via third-party platforms.

As previously mentioned, this feature is available on basically every platform where Spotify has an app. Users can access the lyrics feature on the SpotifyTV app quite easily. You have to open the “Now Playing View” on a song. The second step is to navigate to the right corner to the “lyrics button” and select if you want to enable lyrics. Once enabled, you will notice the lyrics in the “Now Playing View”.

Several years ago, Spotify worked with Musixmatch to display song lyrics until parting ways with the company in 2016. Since then, Spotify offered a “Behind the Lyrics” feature thanks to a collaboration with Genius. But this feature is less useful for karaoke sessions. Spotify made the decision to get rid of its “Behind the Lyrics” feature.
